Vida is a smart little Tapas restaurant in Lytham town centre, opposite the County pub. What I like about Vida is the promotions they run here, with Tuesday being a popular night with Tapas on 2-4-1 and on Wednesday night all Tapas a fiver with 2 beers a fiver or a large glass of house wine a fiver. We’ve eaten here on both nights and consumed roughly the same food and drink and the bill in my experience is broadly similar.
There is variety on the menu, and pictured are some of our go to dishes. Chorizo in cider is a particular favourite, as are the Gambas Pil Pil, juicy prawns smothered in lots of spicy garlic oil. The Patatas Bravas are particularly good – I’ve had worse off the beaten track in Spain, whilst the meatballs, mini fish and chips and Asian ribs all warrant a mention.
A selection of the Vida tapas dishes is pictured below….
The stand out dish for me is always the chicken wings. They are available in 2 sauces (although I understand my favourite is no longer served – a personal culinary disaster!) BBQ and Hot Buffallo. Now as a spice fan I love the hot sauce. If you’ve ever had the hot wings in a Hard Rock café these are (were) equally as good if not better. Dear Vida – please bring back the Hot Sauce – surely its makeable in a matter of minutes? Please? I’ll beg ;o)
Drink selection is good – Estrella in bottles and that’s me sorted, but also the White house wine is very drinkable and excellent at cutting through this flavour onslaught.
One of our favourites in Lytham, the staff are young but experienced and look after you well. Let’s just reconsider that hot sauce?
